of the lead vocalists of the band along with Chris Davies. |
 | Began
performing out in public at folk clubs in 1985 at the age of 3. |
 | Learnt
the guitar at age 14. |
 | Has
a wide interest in many genres of music including Folk and Progressive
Rock. |
 | Martyn is known to create some of the arrangements
to Chris’ songs (including the riff in Just see through my Eyes,
the machine-gun guitar / drum part in Monkey on my Back and the mandocello
solo in Neon Blue) and the two of them continue to create new
songs together. Martyn has yet to write a song for the band but a
version of Monkey on my Back by him does still exist somewhere. |
 | His
biggest musical influence is the local acoustic duo, Show of Hands
(Steve Knightley and Phil Beer). The band has performed songs by the duo
including Day has Come, Cars and recently, Be Lucky. |
 | Aside
from performing in The Dufflebags, Martyn also performs with his family
and as a solo performer in the folk clubs and at Village Hall and Music
in the Park Concerts. |
